Alfa Romeo Real People

For our 5th task we were asked to pick 5 people who we thought would be a perfect suitor to the Alfa Romeo Giulietta.

We were asked to consider a few different things when finding the right people.

-Age
-Interest
-work
-feautures

With this in mind I believe I have found 5 people who would be perfectly suited to the Alfa Romeo Giulietta

1: Maria

This car is suited to maria for a number of reasons, it is everything she needs in a car. It is economical for her long drives down the country and the seats are comfortable for somebody who finds it difficult to find a nice car seat with a sore back. Maria works in a hospital and is conscious when it comes to road safety, she was thrilled when she found out that the Alfa romeo Giulietta received a 5star euro ncap rating for safety!

2. Shane

Shane works in a hotel in ballsbridge. His main interest is music, and the media system in the alfa romeo Giulietta is a perfect match for stephans needs. He also enjoys travelling with his friends, the built in Sat nav is also a very good use for him as he tends to get lost sometimes!!

3:Cianan

Cianan,Like shane is big into music. He’s a bit older than a college student but none the less enjoys travelling and socialisng. He likes to keep in touch with his friends and family and thre is no safer way to do whilst driving than with the Blue and me bluetooth set. its built in to the car and completely syncs with your phone. you can dial, answer, pickup or listen to messages right from your steering wheel. no Penalty points for cianan!!

4: Fionn

Fionn works in IT, likes nice cars and gadgets. The giulietta is a ringer for fionn, with so many features it is no surprise that fionn likes the giulietta. its front and rear fogs, different driving modes and not to mention the start and stop, which he swears by. He spends a few hours each day in traffic and this excellent features compliments his localised and personal style of driving. The hill holder is another feature that grabs his attention and he is always asking how vertical can it go, havent found out yet!

5: Kieran

Kieran is a Director of an electrical contracting company, needless to say a nice car is always good when trying to impress potential clients. but what sets the Giulietta apart for him is the size of the boot and the power that this car wields. Although a van is used for his main day-to-day duties, a Giulietta would be nice to have when he is not working on site, on his way to meetings and outside of work.

Each person I chose have similar needs for a car, which I think apply to everybody, not just the 5 people above. Everybody wants a safe and economical car, which The giulietta provides with her stunning efficiency and ncap rating.

Everybody wants a handsfree set with their car or a satnav for when they get lost.

But then their are the small feautures that are not talked about as much , like the lights that illuminate your initial steps when exiting the vehicle, the subtle warning well in advance when you are low on fuel, or simple hints for driving conditions like the frost flike picture or “possible ice” warning that allows you to adjust your driving. All these small things make up one big package that fits into a Medium sized car.

taks 5

on my way home from the Library the other night I noticed I had a flat tyre, it was 8:00 pm and there was no where open for a repair so I made it to the nearest garage to fill up.

I had hoped the tyre might have just lost pressure and deflated for some reason or another, until the next morning while i was already pressed for time saw this:

and to make it worse i had a full boot of tools and other stuff! FML!!!!

after clearing the boot I ,for the first time got to see what sort of equipment i would be dealing with in the tyre changing dept and what kind of spare I have. quite impressed:

The tyre was alot better than those annoying wheelbare barely even a wheel space savers that other cars come with, there is only one better scenario, and that would be a full spare alloy, if only!! It makes sense because if I had a spare I wouldnt bother getting the flat tyre replaced for ages and then being the unlucky person I am (contradictory to the reason im writing this blog I know) I would end up a certain creek without a paddle.

The spare tyre is similar in size, the main difference is the width of the tyre:

So on my way home from another long slog studying in the library I managed to stop off in tallaght to get my tyre repaired and have Giulietta back to here best.

The guys were very good and professional, in and out in under ten minutes! thank god for late openings on thurday or I would have missed them again!

now finally my tyre is ok, it may not be the most exciting of stories but trust me, after weeks of continous study from moning to night– it was the highlight of my day getting my tyre fixed- that and playing he new call of duty for a few minutes for the first time!

A brilliant feature of the alfa romeo Giulietta is its warnings when you are low on fuel.

It may seem pushy at times but its just a gentle reminder that she can also become de-hydrated. I nearly think she has a drink problem some days when she demands more and more!!

anyway an aspect that has helped me keep track of my fuel levels is the prompt that displays on the sat nav screen.

I dont even mind that when i accpted the directions in my driveway it directed me away from the closest garage to another down the road, 3x the distance, silly rabbit!  anyway heres what im talking about, good feature.

The relationship an owner develops with his/her Alfa Romeo is nothing like any other seen. The love and respect that this cars commands is unrivalled. So for this task we were asked to show how we use our coar for family/social and work related purposes.

I have shown a little video below which shows a few of the many uses this car has.

My cousin chris came over to visit for the weekend and we had a ball. we went out, drank a few and the next day were still capable of basic human function so we decided to go fishing. we Caught something but it wasnt a fish! your going to have to watch the video below to find out what we did catch.

The D.N.A system came in very useful to me this weekend in particular. im rarely on the motorway and it gave me a great chance to use the Dynamic mode. its nippy and exactly what you want for our miniature autobhan.
with the cold, wet weather this weekend I decided to use the All weather mode, and made a point of using it all weekend, it is very convenient tht it will stay as the preffered mode until changed, it saves people like me from forgeting!

For work I just use the normal mode whilst driving, theres nothing adventerous on my 8 minute drive to work. My main use is the spacious boot, I am mostly on site so I keep the car well away, for her own good!

Task 3-out in the car

I took this photo a while back to make a little competition and see if anybody could guess the make and model of the Alfa romeo in the backround!

I was on my way home from the airport and noticed a beautiful vintage Alfa Romeo up ahead, instinct took over, Dynamic mode on the D.N.A was engaged and I was soon alongside this beautiful car from days past.

With a quick beep our eyes caught and we both smiled as we respected and admired each others wonderful cars. Another quick beep and i was off down the road. I was more concerned in getting home to head out for the day but my new friend was basking in the moment, top down, sun glasses on and cruising in his own little world.

When I got home I took a second look at the photo and noticed I had another friend, who I had unintentionally ignored. there was another beautiful Alfa in front of me also!

I wish I could say I had planned this photo but I cannot!

So what are the cars both behind an in front of me? any guesses?

So for the second task we were asked to choose a song that we think describes the car or a feeling we get while listening to the song in the car.

The song that I chose for this task is by daft punk called Derezzed. It was used in the OST for tron and I believe it captures one of the Key aspects of the car.

The intro of the song plays on the emotion of seeing the car for the first time in all of its glory and the shiver down the spine that comes when you set your eyes upon the Alfa Romeo Giulietta.

The second half of the song focuses on the Dynamic mode of the Alfa Romeo D.N.A system. once engaged the steering and acceleration are heightened to provide a more agile and responsive driving experience. I can only describe this experience as breathtaking.

When I turn on the Dynamic setting and listen to this song I imagine myself in a cockpit where the car flows one with my body. Its what i presume driving a would be like. every move of your hand and every push of your foot is mirrored by the Giulietta as you take nice bends and turns with ease.

I challenge anyone not to find this song as exciting as i do when driving the eautiful Alfa Romeo Giulietta

Turn the volume up, take a second to look at the car during the intro then once it takes off close your eyes and imagine taking to the roads with the Giulietta set to dynamic.

Giulietta Drivers will know what im talking about!

Giulietta derezzed

I finally got around to sitting down to explain to everyone a wonderful feature of  the Alfa Romeo Giulietta.

Alfa Romeo have included their D.N.A selector system in the Giulietta. This comprises of 3 separate, interchangeable driving modes that the driver may choose from to suit their needs, driving style and external conditions.

The car is preset to the “Normal” position IE. the starting mode. This is optimized for day to day driving with set parameters encoded for optimum performance within the DNA system prior to rolling off the production line.

heres the fun bit!

If one may need that bit extra from the Giulietta we simply turn the DNA selector switch up and hold briefly to engage the “Dynamic” mode. With a subtle yet empowering flash of the screen we are now in for a different ride. The engine becomes more responsive, the steering sharpens and the accelerator is heightened to maximize the reaction between the driver and their vehicle. This mode is ideal for multiple scenarios where the driver may feel a little extra would go a long way!

And to keep you safe in the winter,

When driving may become difficult due to adverse weather conditions we can compensate by turning to the “All weather” mode by holding the selector switch down, this will allow more wheel-slip in those lower gears while keeping the car within a safe and manageable zone to ease the difficulties of driving in tough weather.

What-ever your driving style, with Alfa Romeo’s brilliant DNA system, everybody will find the perfect setting to suit their own style of driving. This, along with other great features which I will cover later on, will add to your experience of driving a truly remarkable car in any scenario one may encounter.

NOTE: The Giulietta’s stability and traction control systems are constantly engaged to ensure maximum safety and cannot be disengaged, the optimum parameters for each driving scenario have been pre programmed into the DNA system

Im outside waiting for the answer to a few questions Mr. Taoiseach, both exits are covered and theres no way out!

Why do you fail to protect our people?

You closed a hospital in roscommon that was vital to a local community…
You allow our elderly to sit on chairs in our hospitals for hours on end…

I have more faith in my car’s ability to protect me than this state.

With a five star NCAP rating, I put to you that the Alfa Romeo Giulietta is an obvious choice of inspiration for you when planning for the future of our country, It embodies security and protection for all who deal with this remarkable car!

The Alfa Romeo Giulietta was designed and built to obtain maximum passive and active safety performance. Proof of this, for instance, is the adoption of the most advanced electronic dynamic control devices (for braking and traction): the Vehicle Dynamic Control system, which manages key functions, like Hill Holder, traction control and emergency braking, the MSR system, which prevents wheel locking when the throttle is released, the DST (Dynamic Steering Torque) system, Electronic Q2, which electronically simulates the presence of a self-locking differential, and the brand-new Prefill system, which alerts the braking system that the accelerator pedal has been released, to decrease intervention time and consequently braking distance.

Round one goes to Giulietta

I was getting into the car the other day when I noticed I had a button on the side of my seat which I had not previously noticed.

After careful inspection I figured out I hadnt a clue what it done. so I jumped in my Giulietta and went off about the rest of my day!

It wasnt until later on that evening when I had my mum in the car and told her I had found a rather strange new button on the side of my seat, she had a little feel around and lo and behold, she had one too!
She pressed the button and was pleaseantly surpsrised, the button is to adjust the back support on your seat.
Needless to say I pulled in at my first chance to see for myself!

This, for me anyway, ushers in a new era for my comforrt in cars.
Working long days lifting and using heavy equioment is now not as bad as I know once I sit back into my lovely Alfa romeo Giulietta she is going to take care of me! and whats more, if I keep my finger on the button in and out It feels like a little massage!
