Alfa Romeo Real People

We’re trawling through the post-Christmas brain cells(which, unlike Giulietta are only beginning to rev very slowly) for advertising ideas and  I have decided to stick with my target market for a driver.  So to this end I have asked a member of this team, the youthful, Trevor Screeney to be my “stig” in the Giulietta advertisement.  But one thing’s for sure I have no intention of covering him up.

Trevor is a driver of the present and the future. To say that he is enthusiastic about driving is an understatement; in the build up to his driving test, he aced the theory test, was a dedicated student of driving and passed his test first time round…actually the day before he appeared in my “target market blog”.

But I think that Trevor embodies the future of this country and symbolises the hope I have in the youth of this nation; he is a really hard worker, he is respectful to friends and acquaintances, old and young alike and is prepared to do whatever he has to do to get on in the difficult place that is the Ireland of today. He deserves to be successful and happy and for someone who is mad about cars and driving, he deserves the pleasure one gets from driving this awesome automobile!    So let’s go, Trevor.

To  my fellow contestants, Alan Mc, Alan L, Therese. Clare, Rob,  who have taken the Giulietta journey and come this far and the two guys we left behind along the way, Jonathan and Neil…and not forgetting Aoife and all the gang at Alfa Romeo/Fiat Ireland AND all those who followed and “liked” us on our journey…have a Merry Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year !!!

Before I could produce an ad about the Alfa Romeo Giulietta I felt I had to do some research on the car. Our Giulietta advertisement must be posted by January 6th and must encapsulate, very smartly and in the catchiest, punchiest way possible all the attractive features which might entice someone to purchase this car….I would. Well the point of this blog is that I now know so much about this car that I have decided to write a book…a very big book…called “Understanding Giulietta” and believe me this car is so full of features that my book is really, really HUGE!

Alfa Romeo Ireland has not responded to my plea for help in shooting my Giulietta ad in some exotic location. I even promised to wash and shine Giulie. So, deciding to take matters into my own hands, I decided to bypass them altogether and arrange things myself, thinking, who should I have co star with me, when it struck me….the perfect pitch lady herself, Uma Thurman. So I called her and called her, tweeted and skiped and you won’t believe what happened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  You won’t believe it!  She said NO!!! Does she look cheesed off to you?

What’s a barring order?

Its a wild,wet, miserable evening in Tullamore and Ihave just driven home from work in my Giulietta. I am thinking about the final task set for us “Real People”; to make an ad for the wonderful car we have been lucky enough to drive for the past year. So, what of inspiration…hmmm  Most car ads are shot on location beside the Med with the quintessestial Bond type or beautiful blond behind the wheel. These demi-Gods are usually to be found negotiating  high, winding roads with the sparkling, blue azure framing the background as they speed down the tricky road negotiating bends at break-neck speeds, blissfully unaware of the danger of the 800-foot drop just beyong the flimsy, stone wall…not to mention the speed cameras or the local police!

So Alfa Romeo..if you are listening, I have this idea for an ad. Now, about the location…

It’s here! The Giulietta Drift Game has been released. So take the challenge…click on the link and play  the Giulietta Drift Game using the arrow keys on your computer…and most important of all let me know how long it takes you to complete the 10 laps.   My current  best time is 4 minutes 22 seconds. Doubt if Alan can better that!

The Giulietta Drifting Game…beat my record if you can!!!

The excitement is building..who will take me on in a Giulietta Drift Race. I have been practising really hard and I have set the bar really high!

The countdown has begun…the much anticipated Giulietta Drifting Game will be released in time for the the traditional December 8th shopping spree. You won’t have to travel to the big smoke to avail of the Giulietta Drifting game… ust accept the challenge and pit your skills against me!

I refer to the All-weather mode available on all Giuliettas. Last night/morning it got to minus 5 between Mullingar and Tullamore as Brenda and I travelled home from Bridge. I selected the “A” on the DNA switch and straight away the steering became more solid, the car felt heavier, stronger and as if it wouldn’t allow me make any sudden moves or swerve erratically. I can only describe it as reassuring. Thank you Alfa Romeo for helping to get us home safely!
